The rich history of a part of Burton upon Trent has been unveiled on hoarding surrounding a new £21.3 million housing development in the town centre.

A new furniture lorry, unveiled by housing association Trent & Dove as part of its new fleet of 39 vehicles, is so large it can almost ‘fit a house inside’ providing a more efficient service for customers.

The lorry can transport generously donated furniture to the not-for-profit organisation’s homes for new residents who may not have sofas, chairs or tables when they move into their new property.

From Monday 1 April 2024 the average weekly rent for a Trent & Dove tenant will increase from £107.25 per week to £115.51 (an average of £8.26 per week, charged over 48 weeks).

Customers with access to seven laundry sites situated alongside their homes, which are owned and managed by local housing provider Trent & Dove, are invited to take part in a formal consultation to close them.
