For everyone's safety, decorations are not permitted in communal areas within our blocks of flats.
Decorations can increase the risk of fire and may obstruct escape routes during an emergency. This policy is in place to help keep you and your neighbours as safe as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Within our communal areas, we maintain a strict ‘sterile’ policy. We do not allow any items to be left in these areas that provide a route/means of escape. This is following Home Office guidance and is to limit the spread of fire should one occur in the block.
Any material that can potentially catch fire can hinder the means of escape in an emergency. It could also delay the Fire Service gaining access to your apartment should it be needed.
No decorations should be placed within the communal area, which is the same requirement for any residents' personal items.
Absolutely. It is your home, and we want you to enjoy the holidays in a safe and secure way.
No decorations are allowed in the communal areas, but if you are purchasing for your home we advise you read the packaging on any decorations as there are so many on the market that you can buy. Always ensure that you only buy from a legitimate source with the British Safety Kitemark or CE Safety Standard mark. Always prioritise safety over cost when selecting your decorations.
We have been updating our policies and procedures, and as previously stated, we are required by fire safety legislation to ensure all of our communal areas are kept free from any items that can add to fire loading in the communal areas.
We run a zero-tolerance policy, so any items left in the communal area are subject to our ‘Fire Safety Notice’ procedure and will be removed by a member of staff. You will be issued with an FSN notice and given 7 days to remove the items before we take them away. It is then your responsibility to claim the items back. Persistent offenders could face a tenancy breach, in which case your Housing Officer will become involved.
There is no reason this should impact the community. We ask that you do not put up decorations in the communal areas for your own safety and that of your neighbours/visitors.
No items are to be left in communal areas – this includes bikes, rubbish, plants, prams, pushchairs, scooters, shoes, coats and coat stands, hoovers, etc. The list is endless, as any item can be a hazard in the means of escape should a fire occur. These can lead to excessive fire loading or a trip hazard.
We carry out scheduled fire inspections all year round in all of our communal areas, and this will remain the same over the festive period. We need to ensure you are safe and have a Happy Christmas.
